When we are on line, we can pretend to be whoever we are, for the rules of reality no more apply. We are not inhibited by our physical appearances. Not only that, but we can give the person we are talking to more traits, traits that we miss and cannot find in our real-life partners.
But internet infidelity is not safe, and many marriages end after they are discovered. Moreover, on-line romances become a sort of addictive behavior, and the longer they go on, the more difficult they are to stop.
However, such disillusionments fueled by online romances often stop after real life meetings. It is said that real relationships are tested in the phase of the “toothpaste test”, meaning, when the two persons involved live together and share everything, including their toothpastes.
On-line relationships, however, are never tested like this and they never reflect the real life.
In order to prevent this web addiction, you have to follow a small number of rules:
1) Always share your on-line interests with your partner.
2) Sexual feelings should never be shared with on-line friends.
3) Always keep your on-line life less important than real life with your family and friends, never give it the priority.
4) If you feel that you want to use seduction on-line, try figuring out what really is missing in your life.
5) Try to enhance your relationship by talking to your partner and sharing with him/ her all your desires, wishes and sexual fantasies.
Thus, if you manage to pay attention to those warning signs, you will be always safe from the fantasy of on-line love.
