Depending on the case of infidelity and the circumstances surrounding it, you will have to choose where your stand, embracing either forgiveness and reconciliation or breaking your marriage. Although forgiveness is usually desirable, sometimes it is not the right answer to adopt reconciliation.
If infidelity is repeated, then this is a proof of the development of a deviant character, for the cheating person probably thrives and lives on deceiving others and being dishonest. Even if you cannot believe it, there are people who thrive on sexual conquests, secret relationships and deceit.
Another case of infidelity is when the cheating person suffers from sex addiction. Although such a person usually feels remorse and guilty, s/he is usually too helpless to do anything about it; sex is sought compulsively.
If infidelity is a bad experience, mistrust and betrayal will be nightmarish. However, one should always remember that redemption can follow betrayal.
